KETTLEBELL WORKSHOP

Mark Stapleton runs his own fitness facility in Kilkenny city where he works as a full time fitness trainer, kettlebell coach and martial arts instructor.

Mark is currently the head coaching & development officer for the All Ireland Kettlebell lifting federation and head coach for Marble city kettlebell club.

Mark has been coaching in Kilkenny since 2000, for the last 7 years Mark has travelled extensively around Europe, UK and Ireland teaching kettlebell and martial arts seminars/workshops.

Mark was part of the first Irish team to compete in kettlebell sports in London in March 2010, Mark then hosted Ireland’s first ever kettlebell sports competition in October 2010, since then Mark help coach instructors throughout UK, helping England and Scotland set up their own national teams.

Mark was part of the first Irish team to compete in the IGSF (International girevoy sports federation) world championships in 2011, he was also the first athlete to compete and represent Ireland in IUKL (International union of kettlebell lifters) at the European Championships in 2012.

Mark’s qualifications include – Bachelor degree (Licentiate) in Traditional Chinese Medicine, personal trainer, gym instructor, insanity instructor, p90x instructor. Mace training instructor, Mark also holds numerous black belts in Chinese martial arts and is one of Europes leading martial arts instructors.

Mark's sporting achievements are numerous

  • IUKL European championships bronze medals in professional 32kg , 68kg weight category biathlon + long cycle. (Ireland’s only male professional to medal in IUKL in 2016)
  • Awarded Master of sports rank 2016 for biathlon
  • Awarded Master of sports rank 2016 for long cycle
  • Awarded Master of sports rank 2015 for biathlon
  • AIKLF Irish champion in biathlon and long cycle (professional division) 2014 -2015 – 2016
  • EGSA pound for pound greatest lifter around competition 2014 Slovenia first place in co – efficient and absolute categories.
  • Girevoy Sports union 2014 four nations’ 73kg biathlon + long cycle champion.
  • GSU Scottish open 2014 biathlon 73kg professional champion.
  • GSU Welsh Championships 2014 biathlon 73kg professional champion
  • Held Irish and British records from 2010-2013 in biathlon and long cycle events in both amateur and professional divisions
  • 3rd august 2013 won 2nd place in World international long cycle friendship tournament.
  • Head coach of winning team of international friendship tournament Omsk, Russia 2013
  • Bronze medal at international friendship tournament in Omsk, Russia 2013
  • Gold medal at Manchester kettlebell sports championship 2013
  • Gold medal at Scottish kettlebell sports championship 2013
  • Gold medal at Scottish kettlebell sports open 2012
  • Silver medal at European championships, Belgorod, Russia 2012
  • Gold medal UK open kettlebell competition 28 may 2011 (set British and Irish record)
  • Gold at European Girevoy sport association long cycle championships 2011
  • Gold medal at Irish kettlebell sports championships Kilkenny 2010+2011+2012+2013
  • Gold medal at Berlin kettlebell sports open –September 2010
  • Gold medal at British kettlebell sport championships London march 2010
  • International seven star praying mantis tournament Budapest, Hungary – won 1st place & 2 silver, 1 bronze- July 2006
  • Won bronze at British council for Chinese martial arts (BCCMA) national championships 17-18 June 2006
  • Won gold at British council for Chinese martial arts (BCCMA) national championships 1 September 2002
  • 4th place in South African Ju Jitsu championship 1995
